JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant

JOB BRIEF:

As the Senior Accountant, you will report to an Accounting Manager in the accounting department. While the corporate headquarters are based in Dallas, TX, you will work in Dallas, TX.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in monthly, quarterly, and annual period close process, as assigned.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains internal controls, reports for financial systems and interfaces.
  • Prepares and/or reviews account reconciliations, cost reports, billings, bank reconciliations, variance analyses, and various other functional reports, as assigned.
  • Provides information to auditors and management as needed: prepares audit schedules as necessary.
  • Reviews and/or prepares federal, state, and other regulatory reports, ensuring compliance as assigned.
  • Reviews and/or prepares financial transactions and/or general ledger journal entries and supporting documentation to ensure their accuracy and takes necessary action to correct any errors.
  • Reviews, maintains, reconciles, and updates general ledger accounts as assigned.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and elimination of existing manual processes.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university. CPA, preferred.

Experience:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience, preferably with a mixture of both audit and public company accounting experience.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet the deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel skills.

Miscellaneous Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Computer, phone skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays.
  • Ability to pass 7-year background check and pre-employment drug screen per airline regulations and/or company policy.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.

Physical requirements:

  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position in a normal office environment.
  • Must be able to communicate through verbal, written and electronic means.
  • Must be able to access filing cabinets, drawers, and shelves of varying height.
  • Must be able to move up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis.
