Primary Objective of the Position:This role is for a growing, designated professional who thrives being part of a changing environment – someone who doesnt mind pushing boundaries and never settles for the status quo. A strong understanding of vendor management, procurement, automated payables systems and strong analytical experience to support the control environment.
Essential Position Functions:- Completing general ledger journal entries
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and year end financial statements
- Reviewing coding on invoices and expense reports for accuracy.
- Assisting with general ledger accountability, overhead and recoveries monitoring, expense review and cost control, audit preparedness and account reconciliations.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborating with internal departments and external auditors during audits and financial reviews.
- Managing the Accounts Payable department and responsible for complex vendor transaction.
- Supporting and mentoring Administrators, providing guidance and support to ensure performance goals are met.
- Assisting the VP Finance and CFO with ad hoc requests.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications:- Completion of a bachelors degree in commerce with a Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Designation, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive relevant experience.
- Advanced in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proficiency in accounting software. SAP would be a definite advantage.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, driven to support other team members success.
- Must be goal oriented, reliable and very organized.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong time management skills, with an ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work closely with senior management at all levels within the organization.
- A passion to work in a progressive teamed environment, creating new solutions through extensive application of professional skills.
- Cargo transportation industry or airline experience would be an asset.
