Summary This position is responsible for helping to drive a safe working environment. Also responsible for auditing and monitoring manufacturing work areas to examine work conditions and observe safety procedures. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulations. Primary Responsibilities - Grow behavior-based safety using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Understand and demonstrate compliance with all environmental permits, including Title V Air Permit, EPCRA Reports, and Tier II reporting.
- Develop and conduct risk assessments and JSA for all relevant tasks.
- Maintain OSHA Compliance at the facility.
- Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Environmental, Health and Safety policy enforcement.
- Assist in the administration of the EHS Management System (Gensuite)
- Coordinates/conducts various compliance monitoring including noise studies, ergonomic evaluations, and industrial hygiene monitoring.
- Administer PPE and uniform service
- Administer radiation program
- Member of Emergency Response Team during emergency evacuation and other plant emergencies.
- Advocate and drive EHS accountability and support new business growth opportunities.
- Performs all aspects of the position according to the PCC Code of Conduct and SOX guidelines.
Education and Experience - Degree in Safety, Health and/or Environmental required.
- A minimum of 4 to 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 4+ years working with an OSHA based Safety Program.
- Experience performing/writing Job Hazard Analysis, preferred.
- Experience performing Industrial Hygiene and ergonomic assessments, preferred.
- Experience with local, state, and federal environmental reporting and regulating.
Skills/Competencies - Good working knowledge of all MS Office applications and internet applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have the ability to read, understand, and interpret regulatory requirements such as OSHA and EPA regulations and others.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders, work at various heights.
- HAZWOPER, First Responder, First Aid certifications a plus.
- Knowledge of factory equipment, building systems and processes.
- Ability to resolve complex issues and lead projects
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk or sit; regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT The typical work environment is a standard office setting / office contained in a foundry or manufacturing setting. The employee is occasionally required to perform work in a foundry environment with occasional exposure to work near moving mechanical parts / work in high temperatures / risk of electrical shock; the typical noise level is moderate noise.
