ERP Solution Principal in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
This is a SAP technical leadership role within the SAP Business Technology delivery unit. The position is responsible for SAP thought leadership and mentoring in our current SAP environment and setting future strategic roadmaps. We have a broad SAP S/4 Hana footprint that encompasses most of Gulfstreams business processes from manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, etc. and a user base that covers employees, external suppliers and customers.
We are looking for a candidate that has:
- Broad technical experience across multiple SAP platforms
- Strong background in SAP technical development or technical architecture
- Experience as a technical lead across multiple SAP platforms or direct manager of technical SAP staff is strongly desired
- The ability to effectively communicate to senior level business leaders as well as junior internal staff, (both technical and functional).
- A background in (or ability to perform) technical peer reviews, mentoring/coaching, and enterprise architecture discussions.
- Experience in Aerospace is a plus
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant cirriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 14 years of experience as an IT professional with broad experience across multiple IT disciplines which includes seven (7) years specific ERP development / deployment experience or 4 years of experience leading professional employees. Master's Degree may be used to offset one (1) year of experience; PhD may offset two (2) years of experience.
Position Purpose:
This is a direct management and technical leadership role within the Gulfstream Business Technology organization for the ERP team. Responsible for team performance by ensuring deliverables are prioritized and delivered to agreed schedule and budget. This role is also responsible for budgeting, hiring / termination, employee development, employee reviews, and project management as required. This technical thought leadership role extends to performing detailed requirements documentation, configuration, testing, and application / business process strategy based on extensive hands on experience.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Provide the solution leadership and staff mentorship for the implementation team. Delivers solution capabilities (processes, integration, data migration, and custom development) by leveraging product knowledge and expertise.
- Determines goals, timelines, budgets, staffing requirements and allotment of applications resources.
- Communicates performance expectations, salary administration, and conducts performance appraisals.
- Defines the desired future state of application architecture, and documents the gaps between current and future states. Define transition plans to close the gaps.
- Delegates tasks and/or responsibilities to team members for action according to their level of experience and assigned accountability.
- Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies (SDLC).
- Ensures applications processes are followed consistently and are in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, standards, etc.
- Experience in conducting testing including design and execution of test cases.
- Performs work related to configuring, deploying, maintaining, and upgrading ERP applications and processes. Responsible for tasks related to the development and deployment of systems, methodologies, standards and processes that result in the ability to create and manage the ERP solution.
- Works with programming resources (in house and third party) to ensure development work is completed to specifications.

- Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings concerning specific projects or other activities. .
- Ability to lead/facilitate cross-functional teams and meetings. .
- Serves as technical expert in one or more applications within a portfolio. .
Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proven ability to lead teams through complex solution design and delivery process.
