ILS Planner

Location: Yeovil

Duration: 6 months initial

The activity will be based in Yeovil providing technical support, impact co-ordination and point of contact for in-service technical logistic planning, to facilitate the NAWSARH support service.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work within a team of Support Engineers and logisticians to ensure that a responsive, professional and cost-effective materiel support solution is provided, at all times, which maximises customer satisfaction.
  • Working within the PSE environment, being a focal point and providing planning services to repair instructions, technical queries, service bulletins, modifications and changes customer approved repair capability.
  • Providing both technical and material solutions to support the Customer Services Management and Aircraft Services teams with aircraft availability.
  • Work with integrated technical and supply teams, including team co-ordination when requested, to pursue engineering options to supply difficulties.
  • Technical and materiel support will be focused on aircraft availability to include all Customer operational facilities and on site at LH Yeovil.
  • Utilisation and integration of Service Engineering capability as required to support service provision.
  • Interface with LH departments and any Industry Partners to obtain required responses
  • Facilitate, when necessary, and attend customer and supplier meetings as required.
  • Prepare specific reports, briefs and presentations as required in support of NAWSARH activities.
  • Receive, log and agree priority to technical queries from the On Site Support Teams (OSST), aircraft operators, the Spares Logistic Inventory Control Team (SLICT) and from within the Engineering Design Authority (EDA).
  • Ensure that technical and commercial issues are brought promptly to the attention of the ILS Manager, when necessary.
  • Understand Customer needs, ensuring requirements are understood throughout the business and reflected in formal tasking.
  • Maintain ownership and focus of customer in-service support issues.
  • Provide the Customer and the internal LH stakeholders with a focussed point of contact.
  • Ensure that technical instructions, including proposed amendments to Technical Publications, can be supported in service making sure that remedial actions are initiated when shortfalls are identified.
  • Maintain awareness of issues affecting availability, cost and customer satisfaction - identify for root causes and resolution across the fleet.
  • Visit the On Site Support Teams as required.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A formal engineering qualification at HNC level or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Preferred but not essential experience in air engineering within a military rotary wing environment
  • Technical knowledge of the EH/AW 101 platform.
  • Preferred but not essential, an understanding of an IOS contract.
  • Familiarity with the tools and techniques employed in the delivery of technical support.
  • The stature, drive and motivation to influence personnel at all relevant levels within the company, suppliers and customer organisations, be able to work as part of an integrated team, including, with experience, the ability to control meetings
  • IT literate with all basic desktop applications.
  • Understand the information contained within various computer based systems including but not limited to:- SAP, CIETP, GOLDesp, Engineering Standards and Aircraft Drawing suites to enable provision of effective support.
  • An understanding of Integrated Logistic Support and its effect/implementation within the working environment.
  • Knowledge of, and adherence to, Company security policies, including those related to overseas suppliers, such as ITAR/EAR.
