This position serves as a Management and Program Analyst in the Aviation Workforce and Education Division within the Office of National Engagement and Regional Administration.
Duties
Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team and may perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs or other work activities. Monitors and tracks programmatic and management actions and reports for completeness and responsiveness to guidance, to ensure that commitments and milestones are met, and delinquencies are brought to the attention of the manager.
Applies experience and advanced knowledge applicable to his/her discipline to plan and accomplish assignments. Demonstrates considerable independence in planning time and helping a manager, project/program manager, and/or team leader to plan and use assigned resources to accomplish projects/programs/activities.
Analyzes incoming requests for information or regulatory guidance are assigned and properly logged to both internal and external sources. Provides coordination and action follow-up among management.
Provides ongoing assistance, works issues, and provides guidance on STEM AVSED activities to a diverse audience. With limited direction, monitors, coordinates, and provides information that is accurate, clear, and concise to a targeted audience. Applies knowledge of STEM AVSED program and outreach in preparing and carrying out activities for the Division. May act as a team member on various projects, working with a diverse group. When called upon, acts as a member of cross-organizational teams to support STEM AVSED and FAA strategic objectives.
Takes on the role of forming and leading teams to carry out critical tasks related to the STEM AVSED mission. This may include leading team meetings, developing project plans, and ensuring timely completion of all tasks. Maintains contact with immediate office staff and with other organizational components as necessary to complete assignments.
Serves as the subject matter expert on topics related to STEM AVSED, including those focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. This includes acting as an ARA-100 representative on cross-agency DEIA related efforts, providing input and guidance for key decisions, as well as ensuring that critical tasks associated with the Equity Assessment Tool are concluded on time.
Under limited guidance of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional, takes on critical budgetary and administrative duties to support the Division.
Provides critical support to ARA-100 signature programs as needed to ensure successful implementation. On occasion, may be required to fill in for other team members in instances of extended leave or staffing gaps.
Provides mentoring and guidance to entry-level employees, as well as oversight to intern cohorts conducting STEM AVSED-related projects.
Represents ARA-100 and the STEM AVSED program on teams, panels, discussions, and presentations to both internal and external audiences.
Contacts typically are internal and external, with regular contacts among major subdivisions and LOB/SOs, customers, and other external parties to share information about the FAA and explain the applications of policies and procedures.
Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion for employees to select the most appropriate approach(es) or recommend new approaches. Assignments often require reviews of policies and precedents under the limited guidance of a manager or other employee.
Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Refers to managers and professionals who are more experienced problems that require their attention. May help them develop and recommend solutions.
