Position Summary

Coordinates spanet data analysis from groups and divisions to increase spanet penetration and increased revenue volumes from existing accounts.  Responsible for maintaining/increasing sales volume and margin with existing and new accounts within OEM and/or industrial/distribution channels. Accountable for executing assigned sales goals and sales plans within an established spanet and assigned account base.

  • Develops and maintains strong client relationships with OEM customers and may have distributor accounts while meeting position objectives.
  • Ensures Parker products are specified to maintain and increase revenue by prioritizing the opportunities on an account-by-account basis to obtain optimum sales and margin results.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the spanetplace and provides reports on a regular and/or monthly basis.  Keeps management aware of changes which would affect the distribution of Parker products. Participates in the development and implementation of appropriate response strategies.
  • Assists the divisions in planning strategies to provide the products and services required for their assigned accounts. Actively supports cross divisional and other group products with proper referrals. Provides product training at the distributor and customer levels. Motivates and provides sales direction to the distributors. Assists in the conversion of competitive accounts to Parker.
  • Travels regularly throughout a specific spanet area to obtain approvals and specifications for the Group within the designated spanet.  Coordinates and cooperates with other Parker Groups involved in making single or preferred source presentations to the designated spanet.
  • Actively organizes and conducts product training requirements with and for the end user customer, contractors selected, and OEM’s. Requires file maintenance and documentation.
  • Makes project proposals on behalf of the Group and unified proposals with other Parker Groups.
  • Active involvement with industry professional organizations.  Objective is to be visible in the industry.
  • Negotiates and administers national agreements. Monitor sales results and track trends in the spanet.
  • Works with divisions in development of catalogs, advertising, and promotional pieces for the designated spanet

Qualifications

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, with 5-7 years of progressive experience in sales or divisional operations.
  • Five years sales experience selling to large Oil and Gas OEM’s primarily direct but also through distribution.
  • Proven track record of succeeding sales growth targets, developing new business, and leveraging relationships.
  • Ability to read and understand spanet situations and develop strategic responses that result in spanet share growth.
  • Effective communication, both oral and written. Ability to interface with customers and communicate effectively to accomplish goals.  PC skills a must.
  • Technical understanding of both customer applications and selling technical products.  Experience obtaining and securing specification approval at the engineering level.
  • Passion, enthusiasm, optimism, self-motivated, dynamic personality and solid relationship builder.
  • Travel no more than 25-30.

 

Preferred:

 

  • Seal experience selling to OEM’s.
  • Field Application Engineering background within the Oil and Gas spanet is desirable.
