What you can expect as a Network Security Specalist at West Star Aviation:
This salaried position will oversee the company computer network for security threats and/or unauthorized users. Responsible for protecting and improving the network environment.
This position requires knowledge of all aspects of technology management focusing on security to meet the needs of the company. Will be required to work independently and lead company projects.
Expected working hours are Monday – Friday during regular business hours.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
- Analyzes network security needs for the organization.
- Evaluate and identify malicious network activity using in-house and third-party support (Arctic Wolf, Sentinel One, DUO, Umbrella, etc.).
- Identifies and recommends security tools and technology to strengthen company’s security posture.
- Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments and deliver general risk and compliance practices.
- Maintains knowledge of the latest security threats and makes recommendations to secure company assets, intellectual property, and data.
- Create, maintain, modify and make recommendations on all company security policies and technical documents.
- Lead all security initiates including tabletop exercises, PEN tests, and management security roundtable discussions.
- Along with security related job duties this position will also need to facilitate a technical support role, ensuring effective and helpful support is provided to end users for all company technology. Regular regional site visits may be necessary to facilitate this role.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
8+ years prior experience in IT.
Experience and or knowledge related to security.
Experience and in-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
Initiative
Self-motivated and able to maintain a rapid pace.
Able to process work with minimum supervision.
Ability to lead and provide incentive to team members.
Able to develop ideas and solve problems.
Responsibility
Must perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.

Direct the work and flow of multiple projects.
Contacts
Work with other Executives, Site/Department Managers, IT staff on multiple projects in a cooperative manner along with technology partners and technology vendors.
