Payroll Administrator
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Payroll Administrator for an opportunity in Marana, AZ.
We are seeking a Temporary Payroll Administrator.
This position is a 12-week opportunity to assist our Finance team.
Essential Job Functions:
- Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Process paperwork for new employees and enter employee information into the payroll system.
- Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records.
- Audit payroll records, payroll processes, and employee benefit records.
- Compute wages, deductions and enter data into payroll system.
- Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.
- Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
- Keep track of leave time, such as vacation, personal, and sick leave, for employees.
- Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records.
- Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
- Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, and benefit plans.
- Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
- Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts, and submit them to appropriate departments.
- Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls.
- Verifies, approves, and transmits biweekly and semi-monthly payroll hours to payroll Third Party Administrator.
- Assists employees with completion of forms (A-4, W-4, direct deposit forms, etc.) and answers payroll questions.
- Researches and resolves payroll issues and complaints.
- Processes employee requests for all paid and/or unpaid leaves.
- Enters data into internally built Natoth System for payroll, including corrections of time, assignment. of supervisors, schedules, lunch breaks, premiums and TDY times.
- Identifies payroll / timekeeping issues and notifies management.
- Verifies account numbers and processes all direct deposit requests.
- Research laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Research laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures.
- Maintain and administer 401k plan to include contributions and disbursements.
- Updates and processes annual open enrollment and ongoing benefit changes.
- Capable of critical decision making based on defined processes established within guidelines.
- Special projects – reports, investigations, and audits of the payroll system.
Qualifications:
Required - 5 years of payroll experience
- Thorough experience using ADP & Excel
- Solid understanding of federal and multi-state wage and hour laws including payroll, taxes, withholding, deductions, and garnishments.
- Ability to maintain records and produce reports
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred - Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to adhere to deadlines.??
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English with the capability to follow verbal and written instructions.??
