This role seeks a seasoned, data-driven leader passionate about optimizing complex supply chain operations. As a Principal Logistics Specialist, you will independently drive significant improvements in logistics performance. You will leverage your advanced expertise in data strategy, quantitative analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies to transform dock-to-stock cycle times, enhance on-time delivery, and optimize overall logistics efficiency. This position is ideal for an autonomous professional ready to make a major impact on critical business metrics and influence operational practices.
What You Will Do
- Leads the development and execution of data strategies for critical logistics metrics.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives to significantly reduce receiving, put-away, and staging durations.
- Conducts advanced quantitative analysis of logistics data to pinpoint factors affecting on-time delivery.
- Identifies root causes of delays and champions projects to enhance delivery predictability and reliability.
- Designs, develops, and maintains dynamic dashboards and reports for key logistics performance indicators.
- Leads cross-functional teams in applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for root cause analysis of logistics inefficiencies.
- Champions and leads continuous improvement projects aimed at streamlining transportation networks and optimizing warehouse layouts.
- Performs detailed analysis of transportation costs and carrier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborates closely with inventory management teams to optimize warehousing efficiency and accuracy.
- Partners with IT, Procurement, and Operations to ensure SAP data integrity and system integration.
- Develops and delivers training in logistics data analytics and continuous improvement methodologies to empower team members.
- Coaches and reviews the analytical work of lower-level logistics professionals.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of five (5) years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience.
- Experience with Logistics, Supply Chain or Data Analytics.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry.
- Project Management experience.
- Obtained or in the process of obtaining CORE Professional or Expert Certification.
- Certifications such as APICS CSCP, CLTD, or PMP.
- Broad management and leadership knowledge influence cross-functional teams.
- High level of proficiency in advanced data analysis.
- Proven experience in Lean principles and/or implementation of Lean strategies.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and adaptability in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.
- Advanced experience working in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
