Summary

The Production Planner Specialist is responsible for overseeing the planning, directing, organizing and controlling for the master scheduling of all plant furnace operations, material planning, inventory control, supply procurement, and logistical functions to meet company strategic objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe and environmentally compliant work place that meets all regulatory standards. Assures compliance for all company, regulatory, and EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to all Company 6-S initiatives and policies.
  • Must demonstrate personal integrity and the ability to conduct themselves and their job responsibilities in accordance with PCC’s Code of Conduct.
  • Manages performance of direct reports which include the following roles: Air Production Planning Manager, Vacuum Process Technician(s), Vacuum Production Planning Specialist & MSD Supervisor, Procurement Specialist, and Traffic Manager.
  • Analyzes multiple technical, customer, and manufacturing variables including alloy chemistry, furnace lining condition, revert availability, and sales plan to oversee optimum schedule development for furnace operations.
  • Studies and reviews manufacturing processes to optimize plant safety, efficiency and continuous improvement of production methods, labor, machinery, tooling, and equipment.
  • Confers with internal and external customers and all levels of the organization to gather information, communicate and coordinate vacuum and air melt furnace schedule for planning and other purposes.
  • Manages commercial relationship with key intracompany accounts.
  • Responsible for organizing and executing the annual physical inventory and periodic cycle accounts according to company policy.
  • Assists in developing and implementing strategic business, budgeting, cost reduction, and interference management activities.
  • Works closely with Quality, Sales and Technology departments to assist in resolving customer issues and technical problems pertaining to product quality, delivery and other technical concerns.
  • Assists in establishing manufacturing manning levels and directs the workforce to meet company labor objectives.
  • Prepares, analyzes and maintains detailed reports to support planning, inventory, procurement, and logistical functions.
  • Performs all aspects of the position according to the PCC Code of Conduct and SOX guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from a four-year college or university in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Robotic, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing (Six Sigma) knowledge.
  • Safety and Ergonomic principles and regulations knowledge.

The range of pay for this role is $65,000 to $95,000 US Dollar (USD) salary based on a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays, with three (3) additional PTO days (personal, floating, and birthday). Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the companys medical, dental, and vision insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan. Employees are offered employer paid long term disability, Employee Assistance Program, life insurance, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) life insurance. Additional, voluntary benefits include voluntary accident insurance, hospital indemnity, HSA/FSA, dependent FSA, critical illness, whole life, and LegalEASE. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.
