Job Summary
Leonardo DRS is looking for a Senior Benefits Analyst to be primarily responsible for our retirement program and company-wide financial education initiative. This position provides operational and analytical support and oversight of the 401(k) plan, legacy defined benefit pension plans and non-qualified benefits, and will also support the growing health, welfare and voluntary programs. The Senior Benefits Analyst role will also participate in due diligence activities for acquisitions and divestitures, program implementations and complex projects beyond the retirement scope.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage the vendor relationship with benefit partners to include monitoring of contractual service levels, plan administration and annual vendor work plan• Oversee the annual 401(k) non-discrimination testing to include preparation of the data, review of the results and follow-through on resolution of any required actions• Respond to internal and external auditor requests, SOX audits, review vendor SOC1 reporting; liaison with process owners, internal auditors, external auditors, and other stakeholders; prepare and present results of audit work performed, findings and remediation recommendations/action plans • Develop presentation materials to present ideas and solutions to a wide range of constituencies• Participate in vendor reviews and identify opportunities for enhancements in operational efficiency, overall process effectiveness, and potential benefits to the company• Lead the company-wide financial education and financial wellness program to educate employees to maximize the company-provided retirement benefits and leverage resources from our 401(k) recordkeeper.• Participate in confidential and complex assignments, such as due diligence and benefits transitions for acquisitions and divestitures, vendor changes and new program implementations
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree is required with minimum of 5+ years of experience in benefits administration.
- Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to present ideas and solutions in a clear and concise manner is a must
- Knowledge of ERISA, IRS 5500 filings, Department of Labor regulations, and USERRA
- Familiar with benefits-related laws, regulations, principles, methods and techniques
- Excellent logical and analytical skills are desirable as this position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to manage multiple programs and meet numerous deadlines is required to perform a variety of complicated tasks
- Independent with creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, a strong mathematics background, high attention to detail and accuracy, and an ability to interact with external consultants and legal counsel, as well as all levels of management
- Ability to develop strategy and present creative, cost-effective and efficient solutions in response to corporate and business unit needs
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
- Knowledge of human resources information system compatible reporting programs is essential
- Experience in reading plan documents and simplifying complex plan provisions into simpler and easier content for participant comprehension
- Ability to maintain a high level of objectivity and independence
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and/or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)
