Responsibilities:
Design, build, and repair complex assembly and fabrication tools using manual and CNC machines, hand tools, and precision alignment equipment.
Perform major repairs and conduct visual inspections using approved documentation.
Operate factory support equipment to transport tools and materials as needed.
Provide tooling support across departments, including part fabrication and assembly tooling per engineering drawings or customer requests.
Determine fabrication and assembly processes for designed tools; reverse-engineer existing parts and processes when required.
Demonstrate tool functionality to approvers by manufacturing a first-part article and resolving tool-related production issues.
Deliver training to internal users on use, maintenance, and repair of below-the-hook equipment and test devices (e.g., scales, weights).
Evaluate vendor products for compliance with customer and safety requirements; verify structural integrity of purchased, fabricated, and repaired handling equipment.
Perform and oversee Proofload (PL) testing on handling equipment using rigging, weights, and scales, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Inspect equipment before and after PL testing to assess condition and readiness.
Document test results and maintenance activities, ensuring accuracy before database entry.
Recommend process improvements to enhance equipment safety, reliability, and reduce downtime.
Utilize multiple software systems (MES, CMES, Maximo/CRPMS, Cribmaster) to review and verify work orders, test records, and schedules.
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: 4+ years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
Tool design (manual and CNC)
Proofload testing procedures
Visual and operational equipment inspections
Structural integrity verification
Software Tools: MES, CMES, Maximo/CRPMS, Cribmaster.
