Position Summary
Tactical Air is seeking an experienced Avionics Mechanic to join our team. This position will support Tactical Air's fleet of fighter aircraft with over 75 years of combined experience in tactical aviation maintenance and more than 30 years of military adversary contract maintenance. The Maintenance staff is a dedicated team comprised of experienced, A&P-certified, and tactical aircraft mechanics, technicians, and logisticians who all work towards ensuring safe and seamless ground maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate for the Avionics Mechanic position will report to the Site Manager responsible for the safe and effective operation of company-owned aircraft and will perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance including inspection, operational test, repair, modification, and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft electrical/avionic systems, components, and equipment. This position will apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other teammates as needed.
Requirements
- High School/GED graduate with 5-6 years of experience in avionics/aircraft maintenance.
- Previous work-related experience preferably in the military or with a government aviation maintenance contractor.
- Experience with Radar/Integrated Weapons systems.
- Experience with high-performance military aircraft (F-5/T-38).
- Experience with modifying F-5 Aircraft with Garmin and Mission Systems.
- Experience with aircraft wiring modifications.
- Regular travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required.
- Valid state driver's license.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.
Desired Experience/Skills
- A&P certification.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to correctly prioritize workload to maintain schedules, deadlines, and standards on assigned projects.
- Ability to manage multiple roles and projects.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and be adaptable.
- Ability to cross-train into other specialties.
Physical Demands
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (with assistance, if required).
- Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms.
- Regularly ascend/descend stairs and/or ladders.
Work Authorization
- Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.

- Occasional aircraft hangar or warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), electrical shock, or trip or slip hazards.
- May be exposed to or required to handle hazardous materials.
- Specific work hours are determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements.
- Occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime work may be required.
- Occasional travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required.
