Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician III to support aircraft avionics maintenance, installation, and repair activities in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company regulations. In this role, you will install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and components while maintaining tools, test equipment, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on avionics installation experience, the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics, and a background working in aerospace or defense environments. This position supports mission-critical aviation operations and requires strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform avionics installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair on aircraft systems and components.
  • Conduct maintenance activities in compliance with FAA, FCC, and company policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and work from technical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
  • Route, install, and repair aircraft wiring according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Utilize avionics installation tooling and perform soldering, crimping, and wiring repairs.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, tools, and documentation required for avionics maintenance.
  • Diagnose and resolve avionics system issues to ensure aircraft readiness and operational performance.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols when working with aircraft systems, equipment, and hazardous materials.
  • Support inspections and documentation related to aircraft structures, equipment, and avionics systems.
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of relevant avionics maintenance experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
  • Advanced skills in: Avionics wiring installation, Wiring repair and routing, Soldering and crimping techniques, and Avionics installation tooling
  • Must possess personal tools in good working condition. 
  • Ability to work in environments involving outdoor conditions, loud noise, and hazardous materials. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance 

Preferred Qualifications

  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) or familiarity with FCC requirements.
  • Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrometers, or pitot-static systems.
  • Background supporting Aerospace & Defense programs, Department of Defense, or U.S. Military aviation platforms.

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.
  • Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
  • Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes.
  • Occasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs. Working Conditions: Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
  • Frequently exposed to loud noises. Safety Sensitive Position: Responsible for the safety or security of people or property. Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials.
  • Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles. Performs aviation related duties. Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery
