As an Advanced Systems Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency in the aerospace industry. You will work within cross-functional teams on cutting-edge projects that transform the way aircraft operate. Your expertise in systems engineering, project management, and technical leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of aerospace technology and industry solutions.

 

You will report directly to our Systems Engineering Manager and youll work out of our Mississauga, ON location on a Hybrid work schedule.

 

In this role, you will impact the development and integration of advanced systems for aircraft, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards and industry best practices. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and technical experts to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the performance, safety, and efficiency of aerospace systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

As a member of an Engineering Design project team, provide Control Systems input by performing the following duties: 

  • Develop closed-loop controls design 
  • Develop simulation models of thermal mechanical systems 
  • Develop hardware and software requirements specifications 
  • Perform hardware, software and system integration testing 
  • Write system verification plans and procedures 
  • Travel to internal and external customer sites to provide Control Systems Engineering support
  • Demonstrate outstanding performance in a team environment to meet intensive task schedule for assigned project(s)

 

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.

 

 

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical, Systems Design, Aerospace, Chemical or Electrical Engineering 
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience with electronics systems
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with DOORS or MATLAB/Simulink

 

WE VALUE

  • Aerospace Experience 
  • Experience in vapor cycle systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and thermal system closed-loop controls
  • Proven experience in hardware/software requirement development and integration for ECS applications
  • In-depth knowledge of major aircraft OEM development standards is a strong asset
  • Adaptability to a variety of assignments 
  • Demonstrated application of advanced skills in DFSS/ Six Sigma, and Integrated Product Development System
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve problems in an effective/efficient/organized manner 
  • Good listening and negotiating skills 
  • Ability to deal tactfully, ethically and confidently with internal and external customers to resolve system issues
  • Knowledge of DO-178C, DO-331, ARP4754 and ARP4761 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
