Role IntroductionWe are seeking a motivated and skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) for our Melbourne Airport team. This role supports the delivery of safe, reliable and compliant aircraft maintenance activities in line with regulatory, company and customer requirements, while working under the supervision of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Accountabilities
- Working on a shift basis, perform routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance for Cathay Group aircraft and third-party customer aircraft (if applicable), under the supervision of a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
- Perform aircraft servicing tasks including transit, weekly and defect rectification activities in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
- Perform local or overseas operational relief duties or standard AME duties as required
- Support the monitoring of third-party supplier performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refuelling, etc.) and assist in following up operational issues in a timely manner
- Support contingency plans and ad hoc operational requirements, including diversions, charters, aircraft type changes and major disruption recovery
- Carry out servicing and basic maintenance of station ground equipment, vehicles and engineering facilities
- Support Cathay Quality Assurance, regulatory authority and third-party audits, and assist with follow-up actions as directed
- Perform station administration duties and ensure engineering documentation and access passes are valid and up to date
- Ensure compliance with local Occupational Health & Safety standards, company policies and all regulatory requirements
- Actively contribute to a continuous improvement culture through teamwork, quality initiatives, lean processes and operational efficiency improvements
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks, including non-operational duties and project support, as assigned
Emergency & Crisis Response
- Participate in Emergency, Accident and Crisis Response activities as required
RequirementsAcademic / Technical Qualifications
- High School completion
- Certificate IV and/or Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance / Engineering or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated aptitude and understanding of aircraft maintenance operations
- Experience or exposure to wide-body aircraft operations is desirable, including types such as A330, A350, B777, B787, or B747-8
- Willingness to complete required induction and ongoing training, including:
- Aircraft and Ramp Safety Awareness
- Company Procedures Awareness
- Human Factors Awareness
- On-the-job and task-specific training as required
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work effectively in a shift-based operational environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
