Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to serve as Electrical Design & Analysis Engineer on the Electrical Engineering Capability Team in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Electrical Engineering Capability team is responsible for design and sustainment and upgrades of next generation electronics concepts, as well as supporting production and special test equipment design for increasing capacity requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support the integration of designs with other hardware and software components and systems.
- Support test system requirements and verification methodologies.
- Support circuit board designs for engineering and operational systems.
- Review testing and analysis activities to assure compliance to requirements.
- Support test plans and procedures development and test events.
- Support Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and resolutions.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 1+ years of related work experience for level 2.
- 3+ years of related work experience for level 3.
- Experience in printed circuit board fabrication, test, and validation.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10 domestically depending on business needs.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s or higher in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience.
- Circuit board design and integration experience including design and layout.
- Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) experience. Develop and conduct experiments to analyze existing designs and products.
- Experience with schematic capture, electrical integration, and electrical testing.
- Troubleshooting circuit card anomalies and nonconformances.
- Circuit analysis experience (tools such as LTSpice, ICAP)
- Familiarity with tools such as Siemens EDM Design Suite (formerly Mentor Graphics).
- CCA / PCB design experience.
- FPGA knowledge.
- Experience or knowledge in Defense and Space Manufacturing or Aviation and Aerospace Manufacturing.
Typical Education & Experience:
Associate (level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Experienced (level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). Associate (level 2): 79,900 – 108,100
Experienced (level 3): 97,750 – 132,250
