StandardAero is searching for an Electrical Engineer to join our Test Facility Engineering Projects Team.
In this exciting and challenging role you will be responsible for design, manufacturing, implementing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems for testing gas turbine engines. This role offers the opportunity be a key member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team with a proven track record of excellence in Test Cell Design.
The Test Facility Engineering Team is responsible for the design and implementation of new engine test cell solutions across StandardAero’s global organization and has frequent opportunities to travel to remote sites which include several U.S. locations, Canada, the Netherlands, Singapore, UK and Australia.
The selected candidate will be part of a team consisting of Electrical, Mechanical, Performance and Computer Engineers as well as Designers to create systems that are compliant, innovative, reliable, maintainable, and easy to operate.
The candidate will follow designs from conceptualization all the way to implementation, and ultimately produce facilities fully capable of testing gas turbine engines in accordance with customer requirements.
Duties include:
- Design and integrate electrical engine and facility control systems using PLC, instrumentation and custom design software.
- Data acquisition and control system specification and integration.
- Sensor, transducer, and signal conditioner specification and integration.
- Interpreting manuals and technical documentation to create requirements and specification for implementation.
- Work as an individual or part of a team to design, install, commission, and test electrical/electronic systems to support operations.
- Interface with customer to understand and interpret requirements to ensure delivery of a design that meets all customer needs.
- Create and maintain project documentation including requirement specifications, acceptance test plans, detailed drawings and calibration and operation procedures.
Qualifications include:
- 0-5 years of Electrical Engineering Design experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic system design and documentation processes
- Strong organizational and decision making capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technical skills
- Willing and able to work in a fast pace and changing environment
- Ability to travel to the United States, Canada, South Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 35 of the time.
- Driven by working in a team environment
- Working knowledge computers and MS Office experience/knowledge.
