Summary:
Support cybersecurity initiatives focused on secure boot processes, firmware security, and hardware root of trust implementations within embedded systems.
Hands-on experience with secure boot loaders, firmware encryption, hashing algorithms, and secure firmware update mechanisms.
Evaluating, developing, and configuring secure boot loaders, coordinating with vendors, performing recovery testing, and delivering training and documentation to ensure robust cybersecurity integration throughout the product lifecycle.
Develop, sign, and configure custom boot loaders, including Boeing-developed and open-source EFI boot loaders.
Lead Secure Boot integration efforts, including creating training materials, documentation, and coordinating with vendors.
Perform recovery testing and verification of secure boot and firmware recovery mechanisms.
Support PolarFire firmware services for encryption and hashing algorithms, including development and testing.
Develop and maintain user-space APIs for PolarFire encryption and hash algorithms.
Implement and validate hardware root of trust features, including fuse configuration and testing.
Manage firmware update processes throughout the product lifecycle.
Design and develop custom Secure Boot UEFI applications to enhance system security.
Configure, test, and validate boot loaders for secure and reliable system startup.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, firmware, hardware, and software teams to integrate security features.
Provide technical training and documentation to internal teams and stakeholders.
Stay current with cybersecurity best practices, secure boot technologies, and firmware security trends.
Requirements:
Secret Clearance required to start
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience with secure boot loader development and UEFI Secure Boot
Expertise in firmware security, encryption, hashing, and hardware root of trust
Experience with PolarFire FPGA firmware or similar platforms
Proficiency in C, C++, Python, Bash, and firmware update/testing processes
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and coordinate with vendors
Familiarity with safety-critical standards (DO-178C, ISO 26262, or similar) preferred
U.S. Citizen as defined by ITAR
