Job Description:
Boeing Korea Engineering and Technology Center (BKETC) in Seoul is seeking recent graduates with strong potential to become Embedded Software Engineers (Hardware Emulation) to develop high‑fidelity emulations of critical embedded systems for Boeing commercial and defense platforms; you will build and integrate software models that replicate device behavior and timing, validate and optimize them through unit/integration/system testing and debugging, and produce clear documentation to support digital twin development across multiple target environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support work as part of a team and grow toward independent ownership over time.
Design, implement, and maintain QEMU-based device and platform models; integrate and validate software components (firmware, drivers, and applications) to provide accurate and performant system-level emulation, including automated tests and CI pipeline support.
Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Supports software project management and software supplier management functions
Performs software research and trade studies
Troubleshoots software issues
Works under general supervision
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in C programming(primary), Familiarity with C++ preferred
Coursework or project experience in Operating Systems, Embedded Systems or Computer Architecture
Basic understanding of major processor architectures(i.e. ARM, x86, or similar)
Understanding of Agile development methodology or experience working on team projects
Good communication skills in English and Korean
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to QEMU/KVM or virtualization technologies through coursework, projects, or internships
Basic knowledge of computer architecture fundamentals, including microprocessors, instruction sets, memory hierarchy, memory-mapped I/O, and interrupts
Understanding of embedded system peripherals and protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART/RS-232, SATA, IDE, PCI, and flash memory
Exposure to MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, or ARINC 664
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
Familiarity with Git and Visual Studio Code
Experience reading and interpreting hardware datasheets and register specifications
Strong passion for developing high-quality products
Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and expanding their skill sets
Understanding of bootloaders or the system boot process
Familiarity with networking protocols
Highly motivated with a strong drive to learn, contribute, and work as part of a team
This position will be hired on a 2 year Fiixed term contract with possibility to convert to an open ended contract, subject to business conditions and individual performance.
Location:
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at BKETC office and the listed location site.
Travel:
Some travel may be required, up to 10 of the time.
