What You Will Do

Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic and multi-disciplinary engineering organization focused on the development, integration, certification and support of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems and related sub-systems. The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven Engineer to join our world-class organization. The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven Engineer II to join our world-class organization.  

• Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions to control dynamic mechanical, power, and electric systems.

• Decompose system level and customer interface requirements into software or systems requirements and designs.

• Conduct iterative prototype testing and reviews of requirements and designs.

• Perform software verification including regression analysis, test case development, test script development and evaluation of results.

• English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

• Travel up to 10 domestically.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

• 2 years of engineering experience or advanced degree in STEM with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• 6 months of programming experience with Java, C/C++, R, Python, Linux or DOORS.

Qualifications We Prefer

• BS in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering

• Basic understanding of gas turbine jet engine operation and sub-systems.

• Experience with modeling tools for complex systems (NPSS, Dymola, Simulink).

• Familiarity with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design.

• US Security Clearance; willing to obtain and maintain.

• CDS develops complex, cyber-resilient control systems and software for commercial and military engines including power and thermal management Systems and auxiliary power units. CDS also develops advanced diagnostic & health management systems to monitor our products, forecast events and help facilitate MRO operations.
