Purpose of Position

Responsible for maintaining quality requirements and standards, process improvements and supporting and administering FlightSafety’s ISO 9001based Quality Management System in a manufacturing setting.  This position has direct reports.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving.

  • Plan, control and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include, planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems.

  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.

  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.

  • Serve as primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.

  • Instructs others in continuous process improvements including the use of various problem solving and productivity techniques from the following disciplines; LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Team Based Training.

  • Develops strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the Quality Management System.

  • Applies various industrial engineering problem solving and productivity techniques to evaluate the improvement of recommended strategies and programs.

  • Review, analyze and report quality system data to identify trends and identify the need for corrective and preventive actions.


Job Requirements:
Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in applicable discipline - e.g. Industrial Systems Engineering or Quality Engineering

Minimum Experience

Minimum of 3 years industrial or quality engineering experience or equivalent of education and work experience

AS9100 background and/or ASQ-CQE certification a plus

Lean Six Sigma Green or Black belt certification a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Must have broad knowledge and understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards and improvement systems. Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation
