Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring that all Textron Aviation facilities are provided with competent environmental expertise in a timely, cost effective manner and are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and implement environmental policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with corporate policies along with local, state, and federal regulations.
Respond to environmental concerns presented by management, supervision, and employees,
Provide environmental compliance support relative to CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA applications, permits, monitoring, record keeping and reporting for new and existing sources.
Interface with regulatory agencies to establish and maintain a professional relationship.
Identify and communicate environmental risks and regulatory requirements and make recommendations concerning applicability of regulations to leadership.
Research, find, and implement solutions for challenges for environmental issues.
Provide technical knowledge and training on Environmental policies, procedures and regulations
Provide positive coaching to employees including developing and conducting effective environmental training.
Join in the development and compiling of training manuals and other training aids, and obtain equipment, training videos, and other materials for instructional purposes.
Work with consultants and contractors as necessary to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
Assist with system designs that will control and reduce environmental effluents.
Develop and participate in community or industry environmental groups and programs.
Advise legal and communications department in environmental matters
Keep abreast of new environmental regulations that may affect Textron Aviation facilities operations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree required in one of the following or related disciplines:
Chemical Engineering
Environmental Engineering
Environmental Health and Safety
Environmental Science
Industrial Engineering
Other related fields
Relevant experience in environmental compliance, safety, health management, engineering, or workers compensation management preferred.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer proficient
Moderate understanding of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Local Environmental regulations.
Basic understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
Ability to communicate requirements to of other functional organizations and regulatory agencies.
Ability to prioritize and accomplish work without continuous supervision
Experience and/or knowledge of environmental compliance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience related to:
Title V/PSD air permitting
Solid and Hazardous waste management
DOT hazardous materials shipping and receiving
Emergency planning and management
Compliance management systems
Knowledge and training related to:
NPDES wastewater permitting
Stormwater pollution prevention and permitting
EPCRA/CERCLA/SARA chemical tracking and reporting
Non-hazardous industrial waste management
Greenhouse Gas regulatory requirements
Emissions inventory and familiarity with emission calculation methodologies
