As a Facilities Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team that designs, manufactures, implements, tests, troubleshoots, and supports industrial facility systems, process equipment, machinery, and engine test systems for an industry-leading Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul organization for gas turbine engines and components. The Facilities Engineering group participates in industrial design & construction initiatives across an enterprise of over 30 sites worldwide.
Job Duties Include:
- Directs strategic business unit facilities engineering activities and resources including supervision and training of personnel, representing Facilities Director, and facilities engineering project functions. Develops and recommends facilities engineering policies and procedures consistent with company and strategic business unit objectives.
- Coordinates facilities engineering resources required for the support of strategic business unit objectives.
- Facilitates project teams by providing assistance in project planning, application of project management tools, and assessing training needs.
- Coordinates planning, organization, budgeting, program timing and specifications of all facilities engineering projects and assures timely and high-quality delivery.
- Directs and coordinates facilities engineering activities designed to improve energy efficiency and sustainability. Support and align with StandardAeros Greener MRO and Energy Sustainable Initiatives
- Identify and develop projects to support Continuous Improvement for various energy and operational savings initiatives
- Keeps abreast of facilities engineering trends and developments for application in the business unit.
- Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
- Actively participates in the management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
- Carries out special projects as assigned.
- Design and implement various facilities initiatives with consideration to industrial ventilation, dust collection, cooling towers and heat exchangers, pumping and piping systems, chemical processes, waste water, HVAC, area layouts, building envelope & grounds, and energy-savings improvements
- Assist with establishing and overseeing of various trades and contractors for performing facilities projects
- Establish preventative and predictive maintenance opportunities for facility systems and industrial equipment
- Provide written and verbal feedback to internal customers requiring facilities engineering support for new and existing systems
- Prepare written specifications and assist with the contract process for outsourced design/build facilities work
Required Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of industrial processes, building systems, and shop equipment
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience owning multiple projects and applying Project Management principals
- Experience interpreting & reviewing technical drawings, coordinating various trades and contractors
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, decision making, oral and written communication skills
- Have a high tolerance for a fast paced, changing environment with frequent new, unfamiliar problems
- University degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years’ work experience in an industrial or construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
