Job Description:

The Flight Simulator Engineer Apprentice I is the entry level into the UAE National Flight Simulator Engineering Training Programme and is designed to support the successful completion of the required theoretical and practical training modules in order to continue with On Job Training to progress into the position of an Engineer Flight Simulator upon completion of the 5.5 year program. This will involve exposure to the specific skills, experience and knowledge within the relevant technical areas. The Apprentice will be assigned to the selected academic institutions and internal line departments and will be provided with theoretical and practical training throughout the program duration. The individuals performance will be monitored and evaluated during regular intervals based on learning targets specified in the development plan and is expected to take 18 months to complete this initial phase of the programme. During this phase of the programme, the Apprentice is expected to contribute to routine maintenance tasks applying the knowledge learnt and support with fault rectification, trouble shooting and update of overall performance and fidelity of the simulators.



  • Successfully complete the necessary elements of the programme in order to be able to move to the next phase. This will be achieved through postings to relevant line departments as agreed in your development plan in order to focus on the targeted technical skills and competencies.

  • Gain an understanding of the Flight Training Facilities department while undergoing on-job-training and provide engineering support to Flight Training, Cabin Crew Training and In-Flight Services Training devices.

  • Contribute to routine maintenance tasks applying the knowledge learnt through the programme. Support with fault rectification, trouble shooting and update of overall performance and fidelity of the simulators.

  • Meet the learning objectives of the development plan through studying tailored syllabus at the selected academic institution to be able to successfully apply the knowledge obtained.

  • Present updates on knowledge and experience gained to line managers and National Development team on a regular basis during the programme in order to discuss progress.

  • Continuously maintain, update and expand own skill set required for the job and successfully complete the set developmental activities including self-study and On Job Training (OJT)

Job Requirements:

Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)



Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Avionics Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering



Knowledge/skills:



- Understanding of aeronautical engineering principles.



- Advanced computer skills preferred.



- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
