We are looking for a Hardware Engineer to join our team in a classified location outside of the continental US.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Providing onsite engineering support to a classified system used for defense communications. This requires system analysis and problem resolution, system design, and configuration management.
• Configuration updates, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation required for the ground systems as assigned.
• Ongoing maintenance, trouble ticket resolution, device configuration, crypto device support, troubleshooting and other duties as assigned.
• Providing technical leadership and direction to Air Force personnel.
• Integration of new downlink telemetry equipment, Silicon Graphics multiprocessor computer systems, networking hardware and software, parabolic dish antennas, telecommunications equipment, and power generation equipment.

Typically has 5 years of professional experience and a BS degree or above.

This position is located overseas.

This position requires a Final Secret clearance prior to start.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with hardware design and documentation
• Experience interpreting cable drawings
• Experience building/terminating Fiber Optic cables and copper
• Experience with integration and system troubleshooting
• Ability to install up to 50 pounds of equipment.
• Ability to ascend/descend up 4-5 steps.
• Current DoD SECRET security clearance required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including overnights and weekends, and support a flexible schedule.
Desired Skills:
• Ability to operate spectrum analyzers, firebird test sets, oscilloscope, and general electronic test equipment.
• Knowledge of electronic theory, networking techniques, telecommunications systems, and system level troubleshooting methods.
• Current or previous assignment to a satellite communications program
• Experience repairing mechanical systems such as large parabolic dish antennas.
• Proficient in troubleshooting system level problems with networked data processing systems.
• Demonstrated experience in working outside of the U.S. on classified military networks with export control restrictions. Ability to interface in a personable and professional manner under stressful conditions with military customers and contractor coworkers
• Demonstrated ability in working with and resolving real-time problems on satellite ground station systems.
• Experience in local and wide area network troubleshooting.
• Experience with configuring satellite downlink antennas.
• Ability to utilize hand tools to work on mechanical assemblies such as antenna motors.
• DOD 8570 Compliance (security +, etc…)
• COMSEC/Crypto experience (KIV, KS-252, e.g.)
• Experience operating or maintaining VoIP systems.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
