We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to groundbreaking aerospace systems. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead and support mechanical system design for aircraft water and waste systems, ensuring top-tier performance and compliance.
• Provide technical oversight for both new product development (NPD) and sustaining projects.
• Review and approve design data, ensuring accuracy and feasibility throughout all technical phases.
• Offer leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, guiding them through complex design and engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, quality, tooling, and suppliers, to ensure successful product development.
• Conduct hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and testing to validate mechanical systems and components.
• Represent the company in customer-facing meetings, resolving conflicts, addressing design challenges, and driving project completion.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation, including qualification documents, test plans, and reports.
• Participate in professional organizations and stay current with technical innovations in the aerospace industry.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field) with 10+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expertise in fluid power control components, high-speed blowers, fans, plumbing elements, thin-walled pressure vessels, and pneumatic seal designs.
• Hands-on experience with assembly, troubleshooting, and detailed component design.
• Experience in potable water/waste and gray water aerospace design practices, specifically for ATA Chapter 38 systems.
• Proficiency in ANSI Y14.5 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
• Strong ability to generate and review technical documentation, including test plans, procedures, and qualification reports.
• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.        

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive design experience with Chapter 38 products and systems.
• Experience in related systems such as hydraulic, fuel, pneumatics, and cryogenic systems.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX CAD, Teamcenter PLM, Altium, or equivalent software.
• Experience with simulation tools like CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
• Knowledge of electronic components and experience in the integration of electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience with 3D routing of water and air hoses, and manufacturing processes like machining, casting, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
