Job Description:

 Reporting to the Methods Engineering Manager, the Methods Engineering Technologist - Machine Shop will be accountable for developing and revising the Manufacturing planning documentation to ensure that they properly define how the aircraft assembly, sub-assemblies, and parts are manufactured in accordance with the type design. Research and propose engineering changes. Support Production, Quality, Procurement, and other internal groups to solve relevant technical problems. Key Responsibilities: Develop and update Engineering Masters (EM) and Work Instructions (WI) to define parts, processes, and special instructions for part/assembly productionCreate models from Engineering definition using Solid Works.Create Manufacturing Instruction Sheets (MIS), sketches, and other manufacturing documents outlining manufacturing requirements and special instructions for structural, system, and electrical installations on aircraftSpecify tools required for manufacturing or assembly of aircraft componentsSubmit Engineering change requests to enhance build quality and efficiency, including Make vs Buy decisionsInvestigate manufacturing issues, collaborating with teams to analyze cost, impact, and risks of production changesSupport continuous improvement initiatives and auditsAssist with Non-Conformance Management tasks and planning for efficiency improvementsProvide training to production and assembly personnel on technical skills to support QMS Experience & Qualifications: Relevant education or experience in aerospace/manufacturingDegree/diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience7+ years in detail part manufacturing (Machining), ideally aerospaceExperience in Manufacturing Engineering, or MethodsKnowledge of aircraft part fabrication and assemblyUnderstanding of cost accounting, estimating, and aerospace engineering principlesExperience with FDM additive manufacturing, 3D printing parts, and slicing/toolpathing software would be considered an asset  (examples: Insight by Stratasys, Control Center by Stratasys)Proficient in MS SuiteProficient with CAD (e.g., CATIA, Autocad, Solid works, Mastercam) and ERP software  (Solid works and Mastercam proficiency is a requirement for this position).Strong multitasking, decision-making, and customer-focused interpersonal skills
