Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for Quality Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to support the Strategic Deterrence Systems team in Layton, UT!
The Mid-Level Quality Engineer will provide Quality support to shop, program, and field sites as needed. Duties will include inspection activity, planning review, First Article Inspections, Early Quality Involvement of program requirements review and implementation through production and deployment. The Mid-Level Quality Engineer will support the Quality Management System with surveillance activity, audit support, corrective actions, process improvements, and nonconformance processing.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location option.
Position Responsibilities (Associate: Level 2):
- Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation.
- Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities.
- Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
- Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
- Works under general supervision
Position Responsibilities (Mid – Level: Level 3):
- Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
- Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
- Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
- Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
- Performs benchspaning and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
- Works under general direction.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- Experience First Article Inspections (i.e. AS9102)
- More than 1 year of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution, processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts
- Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- More than 1 year of experience do you have working with regulatory agencies (DCMA, FAA, and/or Military)
- Experience in Nonconformance Processing
- More than 3 years of experience working with Quality Management Systems
- More than 3 years of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution, processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts

Summary Pay Range for associate level (level 2) USD: 73,100 -98,900
Summary Pay Range for mid-level (level 3) USD: 88,400 – 119,600
