What You Will Do:
Coach and Mentor the Repair Design Engineers in the Cases & Composites Group by:
- Creating a Proficiency plan for each Repair Design Engineer, and reviewing the proficiency portfolios of each Repair Design Engineer
- Working with the Repair Design Manager to ensure task assignment promotes proficiency development
- Performing Discipline Reviews of tasks, and providing constructive feedback to the Repair Design Engineer
- Execute business critical tasks, and “Fleet Leader” tasks to serve as examples for emerging technologies.
- Update Repair Method Work Instructions and Repair templates within Engineering Standard Work to incorporate current best practices, and update other documents to support the Design Discipline chief’s Engineering Standard Work continuous improvement efforts.
- Create and Deliver focused training to support proficiency development and noted Quality Control Process Clinic opportunities.
- Provide design input to technology programs aligned with the Sector
- Continue to develop an improved personal understanding of the technologies, engine systems, business systems, regulations and business needs of the sector.
- Foster an environment of creative technical ownership within the collaborative community of Global Services Engineering.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience in the use of Unigraphics/NX or similar CAD application
- US Citizenship required due to government contracts
- 10 Travel
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials Engineering
- Exposure to cost and schedule management or team leadership is a plus.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, plating, plasma spray, welding, brazing, or composite fabrication is also a plus.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
