This role is a focal point for procurement of associated goods, materials, supplies, and services with assigned suppliers. Collins has both Product and Non-Product Buyers. They are responsible for purchase order placement, delivery assurance, and other procurement-related activities

Job Title:

Senior Associate Engineer - SCM

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage Procurement activity with focus on strategic sourcing efforts, qualified supply network, oversee supplier risk management, and manage cost and spend. Establish, manage and develop a capable supply base for category requirement
• Collaborate with other regions and teams to ensure integrated delivery of procurement support
• Conduct periodic spanet research for assigned categories to include monitoring of spanet trends and supply/demand factors, technology advancements and communications to help in the decision-making process to meet the strategic goals of the organization
• Specific to commodities ensuring that information held on these is consistent with core purchasing systems
• Use of systems and tools specific to commodities ensuring that information held on these is consistent with core purchasing systems (SAP etc)
• Issue POs based on contractual terms
• Proactively seek cost reduction through research, communication and planning through applying effective purchasing techniques

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering- Mechanical
• Desired Skills: Strong analytical and negotiation skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a proven track record in supplier management and contract negotiation. SAP
