Our headquarters in Huntsville, AL (the high tech sector of aerospace and defense) is growing! Aerojet has two Advanced Manufacturing Facilities for inert components in Huntsville, AL and an energetics manufacturing center of expertise in Camden, AR. We are expanding all facilities to accommodate an increase in rocket motor production. Aerojet uses advanced designs and manufacturing techniques to manufacture components and structures for solid rocket motors and aerospace structures. Advanced metals and metal processing techniques used by Aerojet as well as our supply base include: high strength steels, martensitic steels, maraging steels, D6ac, 300M, 4330, roll-weld, forward and reverse flow-forming, electron beam welding, GTAW, TIG/MIG welding, etc.
This position will support all programs in processing and machining/forming of steel structures for solid rocket motors. A strong knowledge of various high strength steels is required. Additional knowledge of thin walled pressure vessel metal forming and machining is required. This position requires professional judgement and use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts of manufacturing metal structures. The selected individual will understand/review/update Standard Operating Procedures related to metal structure manufacturing. The selected individual will participate in all work stops, production bottleneck reviews, and failure investigations pertaining to metallic structure manufacturing. The individual will be self-motivated and will accurately report problems, solutions, and results in concise written and oral communications.
This position will be a dynamic position – moving from various programs to assess production, production bottlenecks, failures, non-conformances, and technology to increase yield and production throughput.
