There is never a dull moment on this strategic effort, a cornerstone for the nation’s security. The Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Program will completely replace the aging Minuteman III (MMIII) ICBM, an undertaking not performed in over 50 years. This program is considered a “mega-project” and one of the most complex in the history of the Department of Defense. The new ICBM weapon system acquisition effort brings with it the newest digital engineering tools and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to meet existing warfighter requirements, while having the adaptability and flexibility to affordably address changing technology and threat environments through 2075. As part of the U.S. Air Forces Integration Support Contract (ISC), BAE Systems provides advisory and assistance services in the areas of engineering, logistics, management, scientific analysis, and other subject matter expertise to augment and optimize management of the Sentinel ICBM Prime Contractor.

The Role
In this role, you will serve as an integral part of the LGM-35A Sentinel Booster Section within the Flight Systems Branch. The Flight Systems Branch plays a critical role within the Sentinel program, focusing on evaluating the design of solid rocket motors, guidance, navigation and control equipment, post-boost liquid propulsion systems, reentry vehicles, and support equipment. BAE Systems is seeking a dynamic and exceptional Systems Engineer with Aerospace/Mechanical experience to support the Booster team. As a Systems Engineer within this team, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance and oversight throughout the lifecycle of the acquisition process, from planning, development, testing, implementation, delivery, and sustainment. The Booster Section collaborates closely with the customer and prime contractor to ensure meticulous alignment with project requirements throughout the design and development phases. The ideal candidate will forge strong partnerships with both our customers and our dedicated team of engineers and project managers. With this team, you will pioneer innovation, conduct risk assessments, assess technical suitability, thoroughly evaluate schedule impacts, and orchestrate activities towards achieving success of the Post Boost Systems.
Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and oversight throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
Develop and review MBSE architecture products.
