Job Description The Software Platform Engineer role works to design, build, manage and maintain the infrastructure and tools required for our MxS project teams to develop and deploy software within the Lab42 gov-cloud based environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- design and build the MxS testing and operational platform from ground up
- writing code to develop automation in structure/processes
- design, build, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications
- involved in writing apps in support of the platform offerings for MxS
- assist in the overall architecture design and development of Lab42 environments and structure and realizing the "art of the possible"
- oversee all monitoring, reporting, and troubleshoot issue resolution pertaining to MxS infrastructure
- be a key point of contact for our UK based customer as it relates to the MxS project, and proactively manage project stakeholders
- assist in the collaboration between US/UK operations to ensure requirements have been captured, and goals/objectives are met for the project initiative
- work with cybersecurity to ensure security and stability of the MxS infrastructure in order to maintain compliance under corporate BAE systems cyber policy
- participate in Lab42 change management processes from the software platform perspective
- active participation during internal audits involving Lab42
- collaboration with project teams to determine technical infrastructure requirements, identify solutions, and participate in infrastructure solution initiatives to the benefit of MxS
This role will be responsible for delivery, monitoring, and maintenance of a built-for-purpose Kubernetes cluster with customized VMs in containers. The ability to self-direct and manage inclusive activities with little to no direction as well as experience/involvement in technical projects such as infrastructure stand up and migration activities are required. The ideal candidate should be able to deal directly with the customer and provide technical guidance.
