We are seeking a detail-oriented Release Engineer I to join our team onsite in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. In this role, you will assist in processing, packaging, and securely shipping media assets for release to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with DoD standards for security and quality.  You will play a key role in coordinating the release process for sensitive materials, managing the configuration of media assets, and ensuring alignment with DoD security and quality requirements. You will also maintain the release documentation for all Patriot tactical media. The ideal candidate will have experience in media processing, release engineering, and configuration management, with a strong understanding of working in secure, compliance-driven environments.

What You Will Do

  • DoD-Compliant Trusted Downloads: Take full responsibility for performing and verifying DoD-compliant trusted downloads meet DoD standards for compliance and security.
  • Media Processing: Process and package media files for release, ensuring they meet DoD security and compliance standards, as well as required formats and specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous quality checks on media files before release to ensure they meet internal and external standards, including DoD security and technical specifications.
  • Version Control: Responsible for tactical version control using internal applications and Windchill PDM application software. Maintain updated software drawing pages and maintenance manuals for tactical media. Maintain version control and tracking of media assets throughout the release process, ensuring correct versions are delivered according to project requirements.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain tactical maintenance manuals, software labels and stub documents, process documentation, and asset tracking records in compliance with DoD standards for auditability and security.
  • Shipping & Distribution: Oversee the secure shipping of physical media to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with DoD protocols, including security clearances and logistics requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate release schedules and shipping details to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned.
  • Security & Compliance: Adhere to security protocols for handling and distributing sensitive media, including ensuring compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other relevant DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Troubleshooting: Address and resolve issues related to media processing, configuration management, or shipment, while maintaining strict compliance with security protocols.
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to release and configuration management processes to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure compliance with DoD guidelines.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for tracking, reporting, and documentation.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience handling sensitive or classified materials in a secure environment.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and release management processes.
  • Experience with configuration management tools and practices, including tracking and managing configuration baselines and versioning of media assets.
  • Experience with media file formats, encoding, and packaging in compliance with DoD standards.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide clear process guidance.
  • Experience with DoD compliance and security standards, particularly in managing and verifying DoD-compliant trusted downloads
  • Proficiency with media processing tools and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Avid, Final Cut Pro).
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) for issue tracking, project management, and team collaboration.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) is a plus.

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
