Join a team recognized for leadership, innovation and diversityThe Sr Process Controls Engineer (SPCE) will manage and improve the control systems for equipment at the South Bend site. The majority of the systems control process conditions for multiple types of batch ovens and furnaces. This includes cycle phase control, temperature control, pressure control, flow control, alarming, and interlocks.
Control systems will include HMI design and maintenance, PLC program design and maintenance, SCADA project design and updating.
The SPCE will manage data collection from the manufacturing equipment and the production of reports to support the needs of the process engineers, operations group, and our environmental compliance group.
The SPCE will support the maintenance department, primarily to properly diagnose equipment issues. The SPCE will not perform any wiring or related work but will work closely with electricians and other skilled trades to complete required tasks.
The SPCE will work with the maintenance department and with process engineers to ensure that all process control instrumentation is being used correctly. The maintenance department will manage instrument calibration, but the SPCE must coordinate PLC settings to ensure that control values are correct.
