Senior Software Engineer job in Manassas, Virginia is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Defense company. In this Hybrid/Flex job as an Advanced Software Engineer, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing cybersecurity software for the US Navy, applying your programming experience in C/C++, Java and Python

Responsibilities:

• Develop new software components in Java, C, C++, and Python to meet program needs
• Integrate COTS tools, including open-source products and API-driven integration efforts
• Perform thorough unit testing of software components to prepare for integration in a larger system
• Conduct software component integration to ensure end-to-end system functionality prior to formal testing
• Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis
• Research, identify, and evaluate new technologies for adoption by the Navy

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or STEM and 2+ years of experience
• Strong Java (JavaFX) C, C++, and Python object oriented programming experience in a Linux environment
• Experience with open-source software and custom software, as well as integration between software applications using middle tier integration and data-driven models
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including configuration management, good coding practices, and experience in writing, testing, and deploying production-quality software

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Agile experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, Agile/DevOps methodologies, Docker/Podman containers, data-driven software application Distributed, system-of-system experience, virtual machine platforms
