Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off)
Software Engineer in support of the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA’s) Ground-Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) program specifically, the GMD Weapon System (GWS) – Ground System Software (GSS), being developed by Northrop Grumman.
The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat. Join the Ground System Software (GSS) team to develop, test, and maintain critical defense software supporting national missile defense operations!
Responsibilities:
Support software design, development, and integration for the GWS-GSS product team
Implement robust solutions in C++ and Java across mission-critical systems
Collaborate with systems engineers and hardware teams to support low-level software-to-hardware interface development
Participate in Agile development workflows and iterative sprint cycles
Contribute to and maintain automated testing environments using modern scripting tools
Apply configuration and build management tools such as CMake and gRPC
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Secret Clearance required
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) is required and 7+ years of relevant experience
Proficiency in C++ and Java
Experience with Python or other scripting languages
Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Background in automated testing environments
Experience working with hardware interface-level software
Knowledge of CMake and gRPC
Active CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred
- Active Top Secret Clearance is preferred

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 (This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.)
