Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer- Weapon System Integration Lead to support the Glide Phase Interceptor Program within the Launch Vehicles business unit in Chandler, Arizona.
The Staff System Engineer will
- Lead an integrated product team tasked with implementing missile design interfaces to the overall weapon system in alignment with customer objectives and constraints
- Partner with external organizations to understand weapon system capabilities and requirements for the launch vehicle.
- Develop and balance performance requirements between missile and weapon system
- Perform trade studies to optimize missile engagement sequence and performance relative to weapon system input parameters
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of experience, or a PhD and 8 years of experience.
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
- Weapon System experience Spanning Program Lifecycle from Requirements Development through PDR, CDR to Production
- Experience Negotiating Requirements with External Entities
- Experience Presenting to Customers
- Requirement Decomposition Experience
- Travel 25 of the Time (3-4 days once per month both domestic and international)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Weapon System Integration Experience (Aegis preferred)
- Performance Modeling and Analysis Experience at the System Level
- CONOPS Development (system of systems experience is a plus)
- Aegis Weapon System and / or BMDS Experience
- System performance trades / optimization between elements
- Experience implementing system architecture in MBSE
Salary Range: $142,500 - $213,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
