Perform advanced structural analyses and provide engineering support for airframe design, certification, and in-service programs with a focus on structural integrity and optimization.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct complex structural analyses using classical and finite element methods to verify structural integrity
Support detail part sizing, layout development, trade studies, and weight reduction efforts
Provide documentation for trade studies and design sign-offs
Liaise with Design, Fatigue, and other departments to identify optimal design solutions
Independently define tasks and execution plans to meet project deadlines
Participate in certification activities and support in-service aircraft structures
Identify and implement local process and tool improvements to enhance team efficiency
Lead technical discussions and provide status updates on ongoing work
Work onsite at least 90 of the time in the Wichita Engineering office
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aerospace, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on structural analysis
6+ years of experience in airframe design or repair analysis programs
Proficiency in classical stress analysis and finite element methods
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Willingness to travel domestically up to ~5, with limited potential international travel
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting airframe certification or in-service structural engineering
Ability to obtain Static Authorizer Technical Signatory
Experience as a Static Approver Signatory
Familiarity with Airbus tools, methods, and cross-disciplinary collaboration
