Morson Talent have an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our defence client based in Huddersfield.
The Supplier Quality team at our clients base are a multi-discipline team providing continual quality control support through product and process verification, development of suppliers, processes, procedures, and implementation of systems that ensure the products and processes fulfil quality standards, meet safety regulations, and satisfy customer and contractual requirements.
Working as a direct report to the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer alongside the Quality, Purchasing and Engineering teams, the Supplier Quality Engineer will be integrated into multiple integrated project teams (IPT) supporting a proactive and collaborative project working environment, to determine and apply criteria for the evaluation, selection, monitoring of performance, and re-evaluation of external providers, based on their ability to provide processes or products and services in accordance with requirements in line with ISO 9001:2015.
Responsible for verifying that supplier programs for manufacturing, packaging, documentation, and other operational processes, are being adhered to by suppliers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILLITES:
- Carry out supporting supplier audits to manage the potential impact of the processes, products, and services on DBS’s ability to consistently meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and verify that suppliers are meeting the requirements for the processes, products and services being provided including the approval of products and services, methods, processes, and equipment.
- Verify that suppliers are meeting the requirements for the release of products and services, competence, including any required qualification of persons.
- Verify that suppliers are meeting the requirements for performance, verification, or validation activities that the organisation, is performing at the supplier’s premises.
- Verify that suppliers are complying with quality, engineering, and regulatory requirements (e.g., First Article Inspection requirements / Method planning and approval / Critical Parts Plan/ Customer specific requirements)
- Drive supplier quality performance, including Process Capability, Measurement Capability (MSA), PFMEA and Control Plans, new product development (APQP) and product quality improvement.
- Establish the process for supplier material and process non-conformance, to include requirements for containment, screening, Root Cause Analysis, short term, and long-term corrective actions.
- Verify that suppliers are complying with the process for supplier material and process non-conformance, including requirements for containment, screening, Root Cause Analysis, short term, and long-term corrective actions
- Support business continuous improvement activities and implementing planned actions in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all company procedures (quality, health and safety, environmental, legal etc)
- Attend meetings and produce reports as required.
- Develop supplier KPI’s, SQA, monitor adherence and initiate corrective actions for non-adherence.
- Produce and manage supplier quality assurance documents to key projects.
- Support and verify ITP documents.
- Maintain supplier quality records.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers
- Promote initiatives to improve quality.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Knowledge and experience of managing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Knowledge and experience of Manufacturing processes
- Ability to work collaboratively within a matrix business organisation
- SAP experience – desirable
