We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE). This position ensures that all parts and materials provided by suppliers meet the high-quality standards required by the aerospace industry. This role involves managing supplier performance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, Type Design and Daher Kodiak requirements to maintain the excellence and safety of our aviation products and services. This position requires strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.Job description
Responsibilities:
- Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with aerospace and Daher Kodiak specification standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Evaluate new suppliers and ensure they meet the necessary qualifications and certifications.
- Maintain the Approved Supplier List.
- Ensure that suppliers meet all Daher specific requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality guidelines.
- Define the Quality Assurance Supplemental Requirements to be included on Purchase Orders
- Review supplier quality documents, approve first article submissions, and perform audits as necessary.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier quality performance and initiate corrective actions where necessary.
- Determine suppliers to which Supplier Inspection Authority or Delegated Inspection Authority will be granted/removed
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for supplier quality issues and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Review and investigate supplier quality escapes as appropriate.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve non-conformance issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain thorough documentation of supplier quality processes, audits, and performance metrics.
- Prepare and present quality reports, performance reviews, and supplier scorecards to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Work with suppliers to develop and implement quality improvement plans and on-time delivery.
- Assist in the training and development of suppliers in areas such as process control, failure analysis, and compliance with aerospace standards.
- Work with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure supplier quality issues are addressed promptly.
- Support new product development projects by ensuring suppliers understand and can meet requirements for materials and components.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace-specific regulatory requirements such as FAA and Daher Kodiak specifications.

Profile and other information related to the position
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or relevant combination of education and Aerospace experience.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in supplier quality management or quality within the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, 14 CFR PART21 and aerospace-specific quality standards.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and aerospace regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong auditing skills and experience conducting supplier audits.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to foster positive supplier relationships, and work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and quality improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, 8D) is advantageous.
- AS9100 Lead auditor certification
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other relevant certification.
- Willingness to travel to supplier sites as required
