We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support algorithm development and performance analysis for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) Fire Control (GFC) product. This role contributes to the development, improvement, and assessment of mathematics- and physics-based algorithms critical to Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) mission performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new algorithms and enhance existing algorithms within the GMD Weapon System Fire Control (GFC) software
- Perform data analysis and performance assessment of algorithm effectiveness
- Prototype and validate complex solutions using MATLAB, Python, or similar engineering tools
- Support integration of algorithm solutions into the larger GFC software architecture
- Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team to implement and assess new capabilities
- Contribute to mission-critical solutions supporting midcourse missile defense and battle management operations
- Support work in a secure, closed-area environment
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Secret Clearance required (with the ability to acquire and maintain a Top Secret clearance)
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: data analysis, performance analysis, and physics/Mathematics-based algorithm development
- Technical Skills:
- Strong foundation in mathematics and physics
- Experience with MATLAB and/or Python for algorithm prototyping
- Experience integrating solutions into larger systemsFamiliarity with missile defense domains such as:

- Ballistic Missile Defense (BMDS)
- Midcourse missile defense
- Battle management
- Threat processing
- Weapon-target assignment
- Target object map population
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Experience supporting the MDA GMD program
- Recent experience developing analysis tools in MATLAB and Python
- Experience with ADA programming language
- Extensive background in missile defense algorithm development
