Structures & Manufacturing Technician II - A
Merritt Island, FL
Contract Position
Responsibilities:
- Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges and optical measuring instrumentsInterpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test procedures

- Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds
- Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person
- Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Repetitively climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
- Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbsOperate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, truck-trailer combinations, and other ground support equipment as required
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years experience in manufacturing, assembly and fabrication
- Ability to support scheduled work shift (we rotate shifts occasionally) and work off-shift (2nd or 3rd shifts), extended hours, and weekends if/when vital
- Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Desired Skills:
- Use of hand drills, power feed drills (PFD), track drills, Jiffy/E-Tech tools
- Knowledge of proper drill speeds and feeds for materials being worked
- Use of drill jigs, bomb sites, tools needed for hand placement of holes
- Understand hole angularity and importance of quality hole tolerances
- Experience drilling through aluminum, titanium, Inconel, composite stacks
- Understand clean as you go techniques and need for general cleanliness
- Experience in application of sealants, adhesives, paints, and primers
- Be able to manage flight and non-flight hardware
- Ability to pull holes
- Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
- Demonstrated success as a “hands-on” doer and/or leader
- Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with constantly evolving roles and responsibilities
- Continuous improvement mentality. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and improving
- Drive to understand the details of our business and how to optimize it
- Experience in handling large aerospace components
- Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures
- Experience in new product introduction
- Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing
- Ability to lift to 50lbs
