Bighorn Airways, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Director of Operations to provide executive-level leadership and regulatory oversight of all flight operations conducted under 14 CFR Parts 135 and 91. This position serves as the FAA-required management official under 14 CFR §§119.69 and 119.71 and retains operational control authority for all applicable operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Operations is responsible for oversight and management of the Flight Operations department and holds overall responsibility for regulatory compliance, operational safety, and execution of company flight operations. Responsibilities include maintaining operational control, managing FAA Operations Specifications, supervising Chief Pilots and training leadership, ensuring compliance with flight and duty time limitations, participating in the Safety Management System, and serving as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities.
Minimum Qualifications
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- Minimum 5,000 total flight hours (Total Time)
- Previous operational experience under 14 CFR Part 135 or Part 121
- Minimum 5 years Pilot-in-Command experience in Part 135 operations
- Demonstrated leadership and flight operations management experience
- Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations, OpSpecs, and Safety Management Systems
- Ability to travel on short notice
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 or more years of leadership or management experience
- International flight operations experience
- College degree in an aviation-related discipline
- Prior aerial firefighting operational experience
