Job Summary
Experienced finance professional with expertise in financial and freight administration across the Dutch Caribbean. Skilled in reconciliations, import duties, and managing accounts payable/receivable. Accurate, detail-oriented, and fluent in English, Dutch, and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
• Managing financial resources and maintaining financial and freight administration, including performing administrative controls.
• Accounts receivable processing, including analysis and reconciliation with sub-ledger and general ledger accounts for Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, and St. Maarten.
• Verifying the accuracy and completeness of debit and credit notes.
• Corresponding and communicating with debtors regarding irregularities.
• Reconciliation and payments to airlines, consolidators, and air/sea freight forwarders.
• Ensuring accurate analysis and reconciliation of sub-ledger and general ledger accounts for Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, and St. Maarten.
• Corresponding and communicating with airlines, consolidators, and sea freight forwarders regarding discrepancies.
• Verifying the accuracy and completeness of revenue and account statements.
• Monitoring the accuracy and completeness of import duties for Curaçao.
• Ensuring timely monthly payments, analysis, and reconciliation of sub-ledger and general ledger accounts.
• Coordinating irregularities related to import duties with the Logistics department.
• Monitoring the account "Refundable Import Duties" and performing checks on the completeness of documentation for refund applications submitted to government authorities in Curaçao.
Banking, Creditors, and Payments:
• Verifying bank statements for accuracy and processing them into the financial administration.
• Executing creditor payments, including analysis and reconciliation with sub-ledger and general ledger accounts for Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, and St. Maarten.
• Maintaining and monitoring petty cash.
• Registering and processing incoming invoices from third parties.
• Acting as cashier during absence.
• Performing general filing duties.
Education & Skills
• HAVO with Business Studies profile / MBO in Bookkeeping or Accounting
• Strong knowledge and skills in using software applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Spanish, and Dutch
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to perform well under pressure (stress-resistant)
