About The Role & Team

The Senior Tax Analyst and Finance ensures the overall tax and accounting integrity of the entities for the area of responsibility in compliance to departmental and accounting policies and procedures. The Senior Tax Analyst and Finance ensures the resolution of all ensuing issues on time. He/she will be responsible for some administrative functions relating to areas beyond finance which require management as they impact the finance function (e.g. local representative, coordination of data with HR, payroll ).

The group accounting is managed centrally from Prague and Delhi while the compliance with the local Gaap is currently outsourced to local service providers. To reinternalize our tax and accounting compliance in the reagion we are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst, Finance, Systems & Processes

SITA is a Group with a very large footprint. We have branches in all countries of the world and need to ensure a tax presence locally in Zimbabwe. For this reason, we foresee one employee to cover the tax and accounting compliance.

1. Tax Reporting and Accounting

• Prepare and submit periodical Direct and Indirect Tax Returns e.g. IVA, WHT, CIT… for all assigned branches

• Ensure all reporting is accurate and processes are completed by the stipulated deadlines

• Take over tax activities currently performed by our service provider
• Support implementation for digitalisation e.g. einvoicing, SAFT…
• Improve the reporting standardization

• Processing of messages/letters from tax authorities and preparation of draft replies
• Prepare information required for external audit and internal audit as directed
• Ensure the information provided complies with group/ local accounting policies and procedures, internal control guidelines and Business Processes
• Propose, coordinate and/or follow the process improvements activities

• Maintain tax accounting records in accounting system

• Prepare the reconciliations (e.g. tax, revenue, …), identify sources of discrepancies
• Work with central accounting team to adjust the corporate accounting in such a way that it complies with the local gaap (local language translation, FX issues, tax issues…)
• Work with IT to create the necessary accounts, ledgers, translation tools …
• Organize the transfer of local tax accounting software to Oracle
• Provide control reports to the line management as required
• Proper documentation archiving

• Coordinate and/or follow the process improvements activities

1. Quality Assurance

• Develop your understanding of SITA activities, tax model and invoicing process
• Design and implement internal control to ensure the local tax and accounting comply with the local gaap and regulations for the different countries under your responsibilities and reconcile with corporate books
• Review of tax accounting records and ask for corrections where needed

1. Local Representative:

• Be the first point of contact for legal/financial requirements
• Be the local representative based on the local needs
• Support with translation in local language when needed
• Ad-hoc requests

• University Degree in Accounting, Finance and Tax
• Valid Professional accounting qualification (e.g. Certified Public Accountant, Association of Chartered Accountants, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) is a must.
• 8 to 12 years of work experience in full accounting and tax compliance
• Excellent knowledge of Zimbabwe accounting rules and Tax compliance requirements
• Full professional proficiency in English
• Prior experience in change management and experience in implementing financial systems is desirable
