Overview

Job Summary

Responsible to purchase materials, goods, and services in support of production operations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

• Execute Purchase Orders in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software system
• Routinely follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of purchase orders
• Consistently communicate status of Purchase Orders to internal customers
• Prepare request for quotes (RFQ) for approved vendors for material, equipment, and services
• Evaluate supplier prices/quotes, quality, technical suitability, FAA airworthiness, and other related factors in order to determine most desirable suppliers
• Work with Receiving Department to reconcile Purchase Order and Packing Slip discrepancies
• Contact vendors to ensure required material certifications are delivered with materials and services
• Actively participate in weekly production, customer support and program status meetings
• Work with Corporate Accounts Payables department to reconcile invoice issues
• Obtain information required by Corporate Accounts Payables department in order to set up new vendors and make vendor recommendations for new requirements
• Create open purchase order report to manage on-time delivery of assigned commodities
• Other Duties as assigned
• Insure all company policies and procedures are followed
• Overtime may be required to support critical deadlines

• Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: 5-10

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university and five or more years of purchasing experience in aviation manufacturing operations and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of aircraft parts and hardware preferred
• Knowledge of fabricated metal and machined parts
• Working knowledge of FAA and FAR regulations

Skills

• Ability to multi-task efficiently, works in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and has a strong attention for detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to exercise a wide degree of professional creativity and operating latitude

Computer Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Suites, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software systems
• Proficient in using Internet for purchase order entry and Internet sourcing

USD $30.31/Hr.
Maximum Pay
USD $42.42/Hr.
