Summary:
Operate and set up CNC machines (lathes, horizontal and vertical machining centers) to fabricate and assemble parts to specifications.
Install cutting tools, select appropriate speeds and feeds, and ensure quality and production standards.
Inspect cutting tools for wear and adjust during production runs.
Interpret CAD data, prints, and sketches, following written or verbal instructions.
Perform secondary operations like deburring and straightening.
Conduct inspections using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other tools to ensure part conformity.
Perform minor preventive maintenance and maintain coolant levels.
Provide and receive cross-training as needed.
Recommend and implement process improvements for efficiency.
Load and verify CNC programs, ensuring proper machine operation.
Requirements:
2+ years of CNC machining experience or equivalent education/training.
Familiarity with shop math (including metric conversions).
Experience in multi-machine cellular manufacturing.
Knowledge of machining steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Proficient in using measuring equipment to verify specifications.
Ability to edit and troubleshoot CNC programs (M & G code).
MUST BE US PERSONS
Desired Skills:
Experience with CNC horizontal and vertical machining centers and lathes.
Proficient in tool presetting and fixture setup.
Familiarity with FANUC controls.
Strong understanding of GD&T.
Experience with GibbsCAM programming and Solid Modeling.
Ability to perform complex machining calculations.
